Amber (or as I fondly call her, “Ber,”) has been a friend of mine for about 6 years. We met at a Bible study in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and eventually, worked together at Compassion International. Due to the recession, around 2008 she eventually headed back East to family in Jacksonville, Florida, and I followed also, moving back to my family in Savannah, Georgia.

Despite the short 2 hour drive between us, life happened and it wasn’t until today that we were able to meet up at Forsyth Park on Amber’s way back down to Florida. After a shoot with a client at the park, I decided that since I had my camera on me, I should do an impromptu, 10 minute shoot with Ber and Beckett. Not being prepared for a photo shoot, Amber requested that I focus on Beckett. The result are these more abstract photos. They are definitely different than my usual style, but I love them!

Though our visit was short, it was so great to reconnect. It was like time hadn’t passed and I’m finally planning to make a trip down to visit her and another old Colorado friend, Mallory visiting from Australia, in March.

This was a shoot I did in coordination with The Bride on Broughton, Kato Floral Designs, and more! What a great time we had creating these photos, which we hope to use in our various portfolios. Highly recommend this boutique’s gowns!
